Hello all!
Just a quick note to keep you posted on our progress. This
week, we have been learning about the celebration of El día de los muertos (Day
of the Dead). We took the opportunity to learn more about diversity by comparing
and contrasting it with Halloween. The kids are having a lot of fun working on
several projects, such as masks for El día de los muertos, calaveras (sugar skulls), and papel
picado (cut paper). We watched a video about the celebration and another
about papel picado. The kids were fascinated by it! On their own,
they were able to make a connection with something they’re more familiar
with, paper snowflakes. I plan on posting photos of their works of art!
