Parts of the Body - Videos

Hello all,

For the past few days, we have been learning the parts of the body in Spanish. The kids have been watching videos, and having a blast! Keeping my word to them, I’m posting the videos so they can watch them at home. Click on the links below to watch them. Kinder and first grade have been watching the first two. The upper grades have been watching the Rockalingua one.

Enjoy!

Parts of the Body - Glossary

Parts of the Body

We’re beginning a new unit: parts of the body and the face. As part of this unit, I promised my students I would post on the blog a glossary of the terms we’re going to learn. By doing so, they can, if they wish to do so, start preparing for the lesson or review what we’ve studied in class. Click on the following link to access the glossary. You can also download and print the document.

Day of the Dead - papel picado

Hello all!

Just a quick note to keep you posted on our progress. This week, we have been learning about the celebration of El día de los muertos (Day of the Dead). We took the opportunity to learn more about diversity by comparing and contrasting it with Halloween. The kids are having a lot of fun working on several projects, such as masks for El día de los muertos, calaveras (sugar skulls), and papel picado (cut paper). We watched a video about the celebration and another about papel picado.  The kids were fascinated by it! On their own, they were able to make a connection with something they’re more familiar with, paper snowflakes. I plan on posting photos of their works of art!

Click on the links below to watch the videos about Día de los muertos and papel picado.
